Description	:	Sears, Carolyn Luella (Beales), died on August 2 at the age of 90. She was the wife of the late Irving Sears to whom she was married for 55 years. Mrs. Sears was born in West Hyannisport on March 30, 1922 , the daughter of Alonzo R. and Harriett (Hamblen) Beales. She grew up in West Hyannisport and attended schools in Barnstable. Many will recall her from her days at DPM (or Louie's, as some knew it) where she worked as a waitress and a cook. Her career as waitress and cook spanned some 35 years. She will... Read More	Sears, Carolyn Luella (Beales), died on August 2 at the age of 90. She was the wife of the late Irving Sears to whom she was married for 55 years. Mrs. Sears was born in West Hyannisport on March 30, 1922 , the daughter of Alonzo R. and Harriett (Hamblen) Beales. She grew up in West Hyannisport and attended schools in Barnstable. Many will recall her from her days at DPM (or Louie's, as some knew it) where she worked as a waitress and a cook. Her career as waitress and cook spanned some 35 years. She will be remembered and missed by many friends and neighbors, especially her friends at DD. Carol loved her aids and staff at Hospice who followed her for seven years through her battle with cancer. In addition to her husband she is predeceased by her brother, Donald Irving Beales,who died in WWII and is buried in Belgium, her sister, Marjorie E. Baker and grandson, Richard Sears Jr. Carolyn is survived by her three sons; Irving Sears Jr. and his wife, Pat, of Lake Wales, FL, Richard Sears and his wife, Naoko, of Farmington, NH and William Sears and his wife, Mimi, of Palm Bay, FL. She also leaves her twin sister, Constance Meleo of Dennis, daughter-in-law Joanne Sears of West Yarmouth and "daughter" and caregiver, Linda Sears of Dennis, six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, three nieces and one nephew. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a graveside service on Wednesday, August 8 at 1:30 p.m. in Dennis Village Cemetery, Dennis, MA. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Village Improvement Society of Dennis, Dennis, MA 02638 or to VNA Hospice of Cape Cod, Suite GI, 434 Route 134, South Dennis, MA 02660.
