Daughter of John Cooper Fletcher and Mary Louisa Parker OBITUARY THE CHARITON DEMOCRAT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, March 17, 1892 MRS. G. G. REESIDE Mrs. Carrie E. Reeside, wife of G. G. Reeside of Lucas, died at her home, surrounded by her friends, last Sunday morning, March 13th, at 10 o'clock. Mrs. Reeside had been sick but a few days, but in that short time realizing that her time was short, made the arrangements for her departure with the quietness and firmness that indicated that death had no terrors for her. She died in the prime of her womanhood, being 30 years, 5 months and 9 days of age, and had won the greatest prize a woman can win, the name of a devoted wife and loving mother. She had been a member of the M. E. church for many years. Carrie E. Fletcher, the subject of this sketch, and G. G. Reeside were united in marriage July 29, 1880, since which time they have resided where death overtook her. Aside from the dread of the mystery of death, we would not recall her. She has finished a useful life and is now enjoying her reward. Of her bereaved husband and son, and other members of her family, we must speak in profound sympathy. To them life must be dark and their hearts crushed. But after all, it is only death, and death is not cruel to he who is prepared to meet it. The remains of Mrs. Reeside were interred in the cemetery near Norwood on Monday. A large procession of loving friends followed it to its last resting place.
