Description	:	Carrie Elizabeth Toms, 92, of Middletown, MD died Monday, March 21, 2011 at the University of Maryland Medical Center of Baltimore, MD. Born December 26, 1918 in Middletown, MD she was the daughter of the late Harry and Emma (Flook) House. She was the wife of 52 years to the late Herman D. Toms who died November 17, 1989. Carrie was a graduate of the Hagerstown Business College, Hagerstown, MD and later retired from the Office of Dispatch for both the Frederick and Washington Counties Department of Forestry and Parks. She was a dedicated volunteer for the... Read More	Carrie Elizabeth Toms, 92, of Middletown, MD died Monday, March 21, 2011 at the University of Maryland Medical Center of Baltimore, MD. Born December 26, 1918 in Middletown, MD she was the daughter of the late Harry and Emma (Flook) House. She was the wife of 52 years to the late Herman D. Toms who died November 17, 1989. Carrie was a graduate of the Hagerstown Business College, Hagerstown, MD and later retired from the Office of Dispatch for both the Frederick and Washington Counties Department of Forestry and Parks. She was a dedicated volunteer for the Middletown Food Bank for many years. Her memberships include Zion Lutheran Church and the Food and Friends Senior Citizens both of Middletown; The Women of the Moose Brunswick Chapter, the Fraternal Order of the Eagle Aerie #36 of Brunswick, the Red Feather Council 59th Degree of the Pocahontas of Williamsport; and both the Local and National AARP. Carrie is survived by a half-brother Harry House Jr. of Boonsboro, MD; a half-sister, Betty Wolf of Middletown; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend Charles Darlington of Middletown. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Francis Smith and Marie McCollam; and two brothers, Richard House and Ernest House Flook. The funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, March 25, 2011 at Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown, MD. Her pastor the Rev. Kathy Vitalis Hoffman will officiate. Burial will be in the Boonsboro Cemetery, Boonsboro, MD.
