Logan, 88, a resident of this county for the past 15 years, died early Wednesday morning at Brodstone hospital (sic) in Superior, where she had been a patient since Monday evening. Funeral services are to held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Methodist church (sic) at Lebanon, Kan., with burial in the cemetery there. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, September 26, 1957 ================================== Carrie Grace Logan, daughter of Edward P. and Mary Trask, was born Feb. 8, 1869, at Terre Haute, Ill., and departed this life early Wednesday morning, Sept. 25, at Brodstone Memorial Hospital following a brief illness at the age of 88 years, 7 months and 13 days. On March 4, 1891, she was united in marriage to William Davis Logan at Terre Haute. Their wedding trip was to Nebraska where they made their home on a farm at Osceola until 1911 when they, with their children, moved to Lebanon, Kan. Mr. and Mrs. Logan left the farm on 1935, going to Boulder, Colo., where Mr. Logan passed away in 1938. In 1942 she came to Nuckolls county (sic) to make her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Wadley, who lived in Nelson until March 1951, then moving to Superior. The past nine months have been spent in the Nuckolls County Nursing Home at Nelson. Mrs. Logan was a devoted wife and mother, and was loved by all who knew her. She was a member of the Christian Church in boulder, transferring her membership to the Nelson Methodist church (sic), and later to the Superior Methodist church (sic). She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors for over 50 years. Surviving are her three sons and one daughter, Albert Logan of Wichita, Kan., Gay Logan of Los Angeles, Calif., Eugene Logan of Hawthorne, Calif., and Mrs. Eldon (Una Mae) Wadley of Superior; a grandson, Glenn Obert of Lincoln, Neb., who was taken into the Logan home at the time of his mother's death; a sister, Mrs. Jessie T. Coble of Wichita, Kan.; six grandchildren and nine grandchildren (sic - I think this should be great-grandchildren), many other relatives and a host of friends. Precdeding her in death were her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Leo (Nita) Obert and Mrs. H.W. (Tena) Southworth. Funeral services were held at Lebanon, Kan., Friday afternoon, Sept. 27, at the Methodist church (sic) at 2 o'clock. Burial was there in the Sweet Home cemetery (sic).
