Description	:	Mrs. Jacob Hansen, was born October 25, 1847 at Harendrup, Fyn, Denmark. She came to America in the year 1873. She was united in marriage to Jacob Hansen, January 11, 1874 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. To this union nine children were born, of which five have preceded her in death. They resided at Council Bluffs for a number of years and later moved to Ashland, Nebr., coming to Knox county in the spring of 1879 and homesteaded near Niobrara, where they resided for fifty-two years, or until her death. She was united in marriage to Jacob Hansen, January 11, 1874 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. To this union nine children were born, of which five have preceded her in death. They resided at Council Bluffs for a number of years and later moved to Ashland, Nebr., coming to Knox county in the spring of 1879 and homesteaded near Niobrara, where they resided for fifty-two years, or until her death. She, together with her husband, helped endure the hardships of the early pioneer days. She passed away June 20, 1931, at the age of 83 years, 7 months, 25 days. She leaves to mourn, her aged husband, four daughters, Dagmar, Edith, Mrs. Andrew Nielsen and Mrs. Marius Bonnesen, one sister, Mrs. Peter Hansen of Verdigre, one brother, Martin Johnson of Monowi, fifteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, other relatives and a number of friends. She was baptized and confirmed in the Danish Lutheran church in Winnetoon, of which she remained a member until her departure. She was a devoted Christian, a true and loving mother. Funeral services were held on Monday, June 22nd, from the Danish Lutheran church in Winnetoon by the pastor, Rev. Bollesen. The church was filled with friends, who had come to pay their final respects to this esteemed lady. Burial was made in Greenwood cemetery at Creighton.
