She was born January 18, 1921, in Pitkin to the union of Willie Thompson and Eminee Strother Thompson. She was a Baptist by faith, a graduate of Pitkin High School, two years of Business College, a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend. Her parents and her husband, Alvin Willis precedes her in death. She leaves behind her loving family to cherish her memory, two sons, Charles Joseph Willis of Oakdale and Alvin Freddie Willis of Oberlin; three daughters, Rebecca Gordon off Elizabeth, Mary Johnston of Englewood, Tennessee and Susan Fortenberry of Pitkin; One sister, Bobbie Geissen of Texas; one half-brother, Billy Maricle of Pitkin and one half-sister, Mary Maricle of Pineville; twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Vincent Gordon, Joey Harris, Joseph Willis, Will Eaves, Alvin L. Willis, Channing Nolen, Jody Moore, Tyler Fortenberry. Special thanks to Brighton Bridge Hospice and Rosepine Retirement and Rehabilitation Center for their excellent care given to Carrie.
