Born in Middletown, MD to the late Dillard G. House and Mary Baker House in 1929, Hank graduated from Middletown High School in 1946. Born in Middletown, MD to the late Dillard G. House and Mary Baker House in 1929, Hank graduated from Middletown High School in 1946. After active service time, Hank attended the University of Maryland graduating in 1953 with a bachelor's degree in data processing. During his lifetime Hank enjoyed working for DuPont, CIA, and IBM. In addition, Hank co- owned with Jim Grimes the International Harvester dealership in Frederick. Hank often joked that he had difficulty retiring and reentered the work force for 10 more years as the General Manager, Fredericktowne Toyota dealership. Hank loved life to the fullest and earnestly and faithfully tried to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, his savior and Lord. Quietly and humbly, he shepherded many who were seeking to know the Lord; and, his faith was rock solid in Jesus. He was a member at Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown, MD for many years and than at the Frederick Church of the Brethren. Hank enjoyed playing golf, watching all types of sports, worldwide travels with his wife, day trading, MHS class of 46 reunions, and long lunches with the "kitchen cabinet." A life-long member of the University of Maryland Terrapin Club, Hank was an avid Terp fan through all kinds of weather. Hank also enjoyed memberships in Carroll Creek Rotary, the Elks, and FMH Good Samaritans. But most of all, Hank loved being with family and friends enjoying getting together for picnics, holidays or just sitting around to have a chat. Hank was the quiet man at Buckingham's Choice coming along side of those who were sick or grieving bringing them flowers in season and gentle words of comfort. Hank was preceded in death by his brothers Darrell, Richard and Grove House; his sisters Anna and Mary "Kate" Katherine Willard; stepson, Scott Frazer; and former wife, Muriel House. Besides his wife, Lorna, Hank is survived by his daughter, Theresa (Dave) Williams; stepdaughter, Vicki Frazer; grandchildren, PFC Jack and Katelyn Williams and Brodie Jernigan; brother, Dwayne House (Julie), and sisters, Phyllis Enfinger (late Bill), Margaret Alexander (Guy), and Priscilla Hughes (Forden). Many nieces and nephews also survive him. The family expresses sincere thanks to the staffs of Frederick Hospice, Right at Home, and Frederick Memorial Hospital for their competent and loving care throughout Hank's illness. Lorna and the family also express grateful thanks to the residents and staff at Buckingham's Choice for their immeasurable support and love. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Frederick Memorial Hospital (400 W 7th St, Frederick MD 21701); The Gideons International (www2.gideons.org/donate) or Buckingham's Choice Resident Assistance Fund (3200 Baker Circle, Adamstown, MD 21710). The family will receive friends on Monday, June 5, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Donald B. Thompson's Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown. MD. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Frederick Church of the Brethren on June 6 with viewing from 10-11am and the service beginning at 11am. Officiating will be Pastor Sandi Rogers and Pastor Kathy Vitalis-Hoffman. Immediately following the service, interment will be at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Middletown, MD.
