Bailey, 85, a longtime resident of Wenatchee, passed away Monday, February 21, 2005, in Central Washington Hospital. Dad was born on March 4, 1919, in Conley, Kentucky to Clarence Henry Bailey and Dora May (Jackson) Bailey. His siblings are the late Harold Bailey, Alberta, Joe and Elmer. Dad never really left Kentucky in his heart, always singing and telling me about his Blue Moon of Kentucky Keep on Shining. Having lived there twice with Dad, I will have etched in my mind forever the lighting bugs, swimming hole and the mighty fine cooks that lived there. Dad was a looker and a mighty fine ladies man all his 85 years here on earth. He married my mom, Merle who he met at a dance in Georgia, where he was stationed in the U.S. Army as a cook. Dad also served in other locations in USA, plus the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. Next to come were three more wives, Christine, Barbra and Linda Bailey. There was never born a better dad in the world. He was always there for me no matter what, good or bad. I will never forget the smile on his face when he first saw his grandbaby's faces. Dad raised my three girls like his own and they will forever be in love with their Papa. Everyone loved dad, always helping out people in need and feeding the poor. People were drawn to dad; he had this warmth about him that everyone wanted to be around. Dad would make us all smile and laugh with his wonderful humor. The Depression cut short Dad's education and he was the hardest working man I have ever known. He worked as a bartender for 25 years and 28 years as truck driver for Water House Orchards. Dad had the movie-star name and the build and handsome face and curly black hair that made women take a second look. But that sparkle in his blue eyes and crooked smile would catch you every time. I will miss Dad always helping me cook the holiday meals and sharing his garden. Our personal friendship as father and daughter will bring love and joy to my heart forever. A few years back, Dad asked Jesus to come into his heart and forgive him of his sins. I will be in Heaven with my daddy some glad morning and we can sit by the old wood stove and catch up on eternity while we eat some of his good vittles. Until that day Dad, please keep a watch over me, send me someone to laugh with. Your loving Daughter. Survivors include his son, Jerry (Sally) Bailey and grandkids, Lindsay and Christopher of California; his daughter, Ramona Bailey and grandkids, Regina, Ibrahim, Kasha and Jeanetta Haugh, and great-grandkids, Nodja, Madeana, Amir and unborn baby TT. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, February 25, 2005, at Telford's Chapel of the Valley. Interment will follow at Wenatchee City Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Thursday from noon to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
