Description	:	On December 23rd, 1928 Casper and Minnie Christianson brought a baby boy into the world and named him Casper Dennis, the 4th of 8 boys and 1 girl. After... Read More	On December 23rd, 1928 Casper and Minnie Christianson brought a baby boy into the world and named him Casper Dennis, the 4th of 8 boys and 1 girl. The Christianson family lived in St. John, North Dakota. Dennis would later leave the family farm to follow several brothers to Great Falls, MT to work with the railroad and later International Harvester. Dennis rented a room on the south side of Great Falls from a family who lived across the street from Grace and Lester Halter, whom, little did he know at the time, were to become his in laws. After long days at work, Dennis and friends would head to the Brass Rail on 10th Ave S.. While there he spied the enticing Dorothy and asked her to dance. The rest is history. On September 1st, 1951 Dennis Christianson and Dorothy Halter were married. They brought two sons into the world, Dennis Alan in 1952, and Kenneth Lee in 1955. In 1960 they purchased their first home on 9th Ave. S. W. They would live there for the next 30 years. Dennis began working for Consolidated Freightways in 1951 and worked for 38 years until his retirement in 1989. Dennis, Dorothy and their friends and families on both sides loved to camp together. They liked spending time at various lakes around Montana. After many years of camping, they purchased their own lakeside paradise on Holter lake in 1980 where there would always be projects to do. It became tradition that family and friends would gather to play cards, pontoon fish, water ski, and make smoked jerky. When they weren't camping, Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and bowling. Dennis's absolute favorite pastime was photographing and video taking 24/7. What precious memories he left us. Ken and Elsa had their first son, Derrick Alan, in 1987 and their second son, Devyan Lee in 1989. Dennis and Dorothy began thinking about moving to be closer to the grandchildren. Dorothy retired and soon they moved to Aurora Colorado on March 31st, 1990. They attended all their grandson's sports. Dennis took pictures and video to capture their every move. They became inseparable. They took yearly trips back to Montana to vacation at their home on Holter lake and spend time with their Montana grandson's Tyler Alan born to Michelle and Alan in 1991 and Nathan Ryan in 1993.They saw many a tennis match, basketball game and baseball tournament. They would also visit Dennis's brothers Larry, Emery, Donny, Jimmy and sister Phyllis in Great Falls. Family was very important to Dennis and he stayed in touch with his siblings, including those that moved to other parts of the country. Dennis enjoyed everything Colorado could offer. Dennis and Dorothy would take family and friends and travel around the state. He became a devout Colorado Rockies baseball fan and Denver Nugget Basketball fan. When he wasn't at a game in person, he never missed them on television You might notice we didn't mention the Denver Broncos. He was a die-hard Oakland Raiders fan for 55 years and no one could say anything against his beloved Raiders. He also liked to go to the horse races. Dennis earned the nick name Denny Andretti, because he loved to drive fast, (and as luck would have it, never got a speeding ticket!). Dennis was very active and healthy most of his life. It wasn't until the last few years that he suffered from a lung condition that would eventually lead to pulmonary fibrosis. Dennis passed away on July 15th, 2019 at the age of 90. He is survived by his sons Alan of Helena, MT (Michelle) Ken of Aurora, CO (Elsa) Grandsons Derrick Christianson (Jen), Devyan Christianson (Amanda), Tyler Christianson (Jordan), and Nate Christianson (Salo). He was also blessed later with two great grandchildren, Jaxon Lee and Azlina Mae. Dennis is survived by brother Larry Christianson (Jeanette) of Great Falls, MT. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Casper and Minnie Christianson, sister Phyllis, and brothers Ralph, Emery, Donny, Tony, Delmar and Jimmy. A memorial service will be held April 23, 2022 at Noon at Croxford Funeral Home,1307 Central Ave, Great Falls, MT followed by internment at Highland Cemetery.
