Description	:	Mrs. Kate Jantzen was born Catharina Margaretha Lutjens, daughter of Margaretha Rebecca and Frederick Lutjens, February 16, 1880, in Sioux County, Iowa northeast of Hull. She was baptised on April 11, 1880 and confirmed on March 18, 1894 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of rural Hull. She was a lifetime member of this Church, and a member of the Mary Martha Ladies Aid. Mrs. Jantzen was married to John Henry Jantzen on Feb. 8, 1899, and he preceded her in death by nearly 51 years. To this union were born 6 children; Ella, Rudy, Fred, Henry, Henrietta, and Alma.... Read More	Mrs. Kate Jantzen was born Catharina Margaretha Lutjens, daughter of Margaretha Rebecca and Frederick Lutjens, February 16, 1880, in Sioux County, Iowa northeast of Hull. She was baptised on April 11, 1880 and confirmed on March 18, 1894 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of rural Hull. She was a lifetime member of this Church, and a member of the Mary Martha Ladies Aid. Mrs. Jantzen was married to John Henry Jantzen on Feb. 8, 1899, and he preceded her in death by nearly 51 years. To this union were born 6 children; Ella, Rudy, Fred, Henry, Henrietta, and Alma. Rudy passed away in 1966. Preceding her in death were also a son-in-law, Henry Faber, and 2 infant grandchildren. Surviving Mrs. Jantzen in death are: Ella and Art Vanden Brink of Sheldon, Iowa; Fred and Alvina Jantzen of Hull; Henry and Verna Jantzen of Rock Rapids; Henrietta and Gerrit Vanden Brink of Bayard; Alma Faber of Sheldon; and Dorothy Jantzen of Rock Rapids. Also surviving Mrs. Jantzen are: 1 sister, Sophie Kruse of Rock Rapids; 9 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends. Mrs. Jantzen passed away February 8, 1970, just 8 days from her 90th birthday, in the Pleasant Acres Nursing Home of Hull after a short period of failing health.
