Catharine married Baltzer Culp on 7 Apr 1808 in Jefferson County, OH. Baltzer was 25 years her senior and already had several children with his first wife, who had died. Baltzer had two more children with Catharine, Sarah Culp (1810) and John Daniel Culp (1813). Baltzer and Catharine lived together in Jefferson County, OH until Baltzer died on 7 Jun 1847. Catharine has not yet been located in the 1850 census, but she reportedly died in 1858 in Jefferson County. The children of Catharine are positively identified by the listing of "blood relatives" in Jacob Grubaugh's probate papers. "Blood relatives" refer to offspring of one of Jacob's parents. His birth father, Abraham Hoobler, died prior to having additional children with Catherine and the only two Culp children born to Baltzer and Catharine are the two listed above. Every "blood relative" listed in Jacob Grubaugh's probate documents link to either Sarah Culp Barcus or John Daniel Culp. The exact death date of Catharine is still unknown, as is the disposition of her remains. I have placed her in the same cemetery as her husband, Baltzer but have no documentation or tombstone photo to support this placement.
