Description	:	Mrs. Katrina Vincik Dies at 104 Years: Services Held Monday - Mrs. Katrina Vincik, a pioneer of Howard County, died Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bessie Weinert in Grand Island, a month before her 105th birthday. Read More	Mrs. Katrina Vincik Dies at 104 Years: Services Held Monday - Mrs. Katrina Vincik, a pioneer of Howard County, died Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bessie Weinert in Grand Island, a month before her 105th birthday. She had been ill since last May. Mrs. Vincik was the oldest resident in Grand Island. She was born on April 29th, 1852 in Prague, Czechoslovakia to Mr. and Mrs. John Dvoracek. Mrs. Vincik came with her husband to the United States making their home in St. Paul in 1884. They lived in St. Paul with their family of five children for a few years, and then moved to a farm southeast of St. Paul, near the Bunker Hill school, where nine more children were born to them. In 1915 they retired from the farm and moved to St. Paul. Mr. Vincik died in May 1926 and Mrs. Vincik lived in St. Paul until 1940 when she moved to Grand Island to make her home with her daughter. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. Although she retained her native tongue throughout her life, Mrs. Vincik had a good understanding of English. In 1951 she traveled to California to appear on a TV program, "Never Too Old." She was preceded in death by her husband and 11 children, nine of whom died in infancy. A son, Joe and a daughter, Mary Kiser died in March and November 1956, respectively. She is survived by three children: Mike Vincik of Perch Ambroy, N. J.; Ed Vincik of St. Paul and Mrs. Bessie Weinert of Grand Island; 16 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held in St. Paul Monday morning at 8:45 at the Keating Mortuary and at 9:00 o'clock in the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Father A. Figlerski offering the requiem high mass assisted by the choir. Serving as pallbearers were great grandsons: Kenneth Kiser, David Kiser, Geroge Kiser, Arthur Hansen, Clarence Brabander and Alvin Dvorak. Burial was in the family lot in the Catholic cemetery.
