Read More	From a 1903 Nance County, Nebraska, newspaper clipping file, transcribed by Linda Berney: The death of Miss Kate Brown occurred at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Brown, last Saturday evening. She had been an invalid for nearly a year with that gruesome disease tuberculosis. Thrice had she been operated on but despite that and constant medical attention the Grim Reaper claimed its victim. The deceased was born in Ill., and when but a child with her parents to Iowa. For the last seven years she has been a resident of this community and is held in kindly remembrance by the people of this and other neighborhoods. The funeral took place from her late home Monday to St. Edwards church, St. Edwards, where services were conducted by Rev. M. O. Donahue of Albion, who preached an eloquent sermon on Death, Resurrection and the Reward Promised by God; after which, the remains were conveyed to the Catholic cemetery and entered in the family lot.
