Mrs. Catherine Needles was born August 20, 1837, in Delaware county, Ohio. She was converted and united with the Methodist church in September 1847 and remained a member till death. Needels ∼The Eureka Herald and Greenwood County Republican 22 Dec 1903, page 1: Obituary. Mrs. Catherine Needles was born August 20, 1837, in Delaware county, Ohio. She was converted and united with the Methodist church in September 1847 and remained a member till death. She served as steward and class leader for several years until fading health confined her to her home. In May 1751 (1851) she was married to C. B. Needles and of this union 13 children were born, 11 of which she raised till grown; she also raised her youngest sister. Her home was on a farm until 1893, when she moved to Parnell, Missouri, and from there to Kansas in November 1902. She died t her home near Utopia December 18,1 9803, age 66 years and 4 months. She was a silent sufferer and for over two years unable to help herself. The funeral service was conducted at the home on Sunday at 10 o'clock by B. F. Ross, pastor of the church, and interment was made in the Greenwood cemetery. All sympathize with the bereaved ones, but their loss is her eternal gain.
