Hawley with whom she has resided for some years. She was at the time of her death Nelson's oldest woman citizen. She was dearly loved and highly respected by all who knew her. With that ripe experience of 94 years and her keen interest in people and affairs, it wa indeed a pleasure to have known this fine old lady. The cheerful spirit and kindly benediction endeared her to all, and her blessed influence will linger long in the memory of those who are left to mourn her death. Catherine Ann Hartman was born in Lycoming county (sic), Pennsylvania, April 12, 1841, and died in the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.W. Hawley in Nelson, Nebraska, April 25, 1935, at the age of 94 years and 13 days. She was united in marriage to Robert S. Foresman September 15, 1862, in Lycoming county (sic). To this union four children were born, two of whom preceded her in death; also her husband in 1920. Two children are still living: Mrs. Jennie Jolly of Portland, Oregon and Mrs. Elizabeth Hawley of Nelson, Nebr. Mrs. Foresman united with the Presbyterian church (sic) at Williamsport, Pennsylvania, while a young woman, and later transferred her membership to the Presbyterian church (sic) at Nelson, where she remained a faithful member until the time of her death. Funeral services were held in the Hawley home Saturday afternoon at three o'clock, conducted by her pastor, Rev. John Caldwell of the Presbyerian church (sic). A quartette: Harold Wood, Mrs. John Caldwell, Mr. and Mrs. F.A. Scherzinger, with Mrs. H.A. Brubaker accompanying, sang.
