Survivors are: husband, James "Jim" O'Connor of Greeley; daughters and sons-in-law, Maureen and James Fish of Kearney and Colleen and Tim Donovan of Grand Island; sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Catherine O'Connor of Grand Island, Dan and Kim O'Connor of Kearney, Jim and Denise O'Connor of Broomfield, Colo., Shawn and Coleen O'Connor of Greeley; 20 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Wauneta McGowan of Grand Island and Mary Rita Wagner of Scottsbluff. Pat grew up in Scotia and graduated from Scotia High School in 1949. Following high school, she attended Bonnell Beauty Academy in Hastings. Pat was united in marriage to James A. O'Connor on March 22, 1952, in Greeley. The couple lived in Washington, DC and Norfolk, Va., while James served in the United States Navy. Following his discharge, they made their home in Greeley where Pat owned and operated Pat's Beauty Nook for over 50 years. Pat was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters, the American Legion Auxiliary, the VFW Auxiliary and the Extension Club. She was a CCD teacher for many years and also helped create the Sacred Heart Centennial Book. Pat enjoyed working with ceramics, painting china, watching baseball and working on genealogy. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially attending the athletic events of her children and grandchildren. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, a twin brother, Bernard and a brother, James Ira Burns. Published in The Grand Island Independent on 5/27/2011
