Obituary From "Ottumwa Courier," November 13, 1913: Mrs. Catherine Murray, aged 75 years, died at her residence, 521 Ponemah Street, Wednesday evening at 7 o'clock. Death came after an illness extending over a year. Catherine Campbell was born in Pennsylvania June 28, 1838, and came to Iowa and settled near Agency when a young woman. On October 8, 1868, she married John Murray and they moved on a farm near Bladensburg where they lived until coming to Ottumwa four years ago. She is survived by four daughters, Miss Charity Murray, Miss Josephine Murray and Mrs. C.P. Barker of Ottumwa, and Mrs. C.R. England of Joliet, Ill. Two sisters and one brother also survive, Miss Josephine Campbell, William Campbell, and Mrs. T.W. Parker, all of Chico, Cal. Mrs. Parker has been with Mrs. Murray during most of her illness. Mr. Murray preceded his wife in death in January 1912. The funeral services will be held Friday morning from the home 521 Ponemah Street, at 11 o'clock, with Rev. J.H. Cudlipp of the First Methodist Church in charge. Burial will be made in Agency Cemetery.
