OLD RESIDENT IS CALLED Mother of Mrs. John Goldsberry, Passes Away At Cincinnati. Mrs. Catherine Gilbert, mother of Mrs. John Goldsberry, and grandmother of Mrs. W. P. Osborne (Osborn), of this city, died last week in Cincinnati. Mrs. Gilbert was an old resident of this county and for a time made her home in this city. Speaking of her death the Review says: "Mrs. Catherine Gilbert, widow of Joseph (Josiah) Gilbert, who died a number of years ago, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ella Chandlee, in this city at 3:00 o'clock Wednesday morning after being in failing health for several weeks death being due to old age. "Mrs. Gilbert was born in Meigs county, Ohio, January 10, 1818, and would have been 90 years of age in a few weeks. Her married name was Johnson and she was married to Mr. Gilbert December 12, 1833. To them were born eleven children of whom three are dead. The living children are Truman, of Emporia, Kan., Mrs. Elizabeth Goldsberry of Centerville, Joseph (Josiah) Gilbert and Mrs. Ella Chandlee, of Cincinnati. Mrs. Gilbert was for many years a member of the M. E. church. The funeral services were held at the Christian church at 1:00 o'clock last Thursday and were conducted by Rev. C. E. Coggeshall of the M. E. church. Burial was made at the White school house cemetery west of Cincinnati where her husband and children are buried."
