Therefore, I have used the date from her obituary rather than that on her grave marker. ******************************************************* Unknown Newspaper Catherine Justine Kline, 95, daughter of Charles and Mary Kline, was born at New Holstine (New Holstein), Wis., on Dec. 25, 1860. She was the fifth child of a family of eight children, all of whom have preceded her in death. The family moved to Danville, Minn., in 1865 where she grew to young womanhood. She was united in marriage to Frank C. Markham on March 17, 1886 (1885) at Grand Meadow, Minn. The couple immediately moved to Dakota Territory as homesteaders. To them were born two daughters, Mrs. B.C. Evans (Esther) of Verdon, S.D., and Mrs. S.F. Bailey (Pearl) of Caspar (sic --> Casper), Wyo. They lived on their homestead until 1908 when they moved to Alfred, N.D., where they again settled on prairie land and lived there until they retired in Millerton (Millarton), N.D. in 1929. Her husband passed away on July 28, 1930. She then moved back to Verdon where she lived in her farm home until the time of her death, May 16, 1956, at St. Lukes hospital in Aberdeen. Besides her two daughters, she leaves to mourn, 6 grand children and 12 great grand children and many other relatives and a host of friends. Paetzick (sic --> Paetznick) funeral home was in charge of arrangements. Funeral services were held in the Conde Methodist Church with Rev. Wm. Crister officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Myrtle Dirkson, Mrs. Ruth Dobberpuhl, and Mrs. Edna Taylor with Helen Rossow at the piano. She was laid to rest in the Conde cemetery. The pallbearers were five grandsons Cyril, Aubra, Layle Evans, Francis Bailey and Earl Lutz, one great grandson, Vernon Evans. Relatives coming from a distance to attend the services were Mr. and Mrs. S.F. Bailey, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Bailey, and Mrs. Harry Vanatta and son Jeff of Casper, Wyo., Mr. and Mrs. Aubra Evans and Alan of Edgemont, S.D., Mr. and Mrs. Clem Hasher of Janesville, Minn., Mr. Peter Hasher of Waseca, Minn., Mrs. Martha Hasher and sons Marvin and Willard of Minnesota Lake, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Draheim and children Bobby, Jerry, Jacque and Mrs. Barbara Kline of Olivia, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Claude Frazier and children Jerry, Richard, Greg, and Mrs. D.T.
