COON RAPIDS ENTERPRISE - Friday, December 16th, 1955 - Funeral services for Miss Kitty Glenn, 71, who died at the home of her cousin, Mrs. Gerald Johnston, Dec. 8 after a long illness, were held at Annunciation church Saturday morning. Requiem mass was offered by the pastor, the Rev. R.E. Dougherty. Burial was in Willow township cemetery. Kitty, as she was known to all her friends, was born on a farm in Willow township, Greene county four and a half miles east of Coon Rapids. With the exception of five years during which she was employed by Younkers store, Des Moines, she spent her entire life in Coon Rapids. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by her parents and a sister. She was a kindly person and left a host of friends including the following first cousins; Mrs Jennie Johnston, Lloyd Crinnigan, Bertha Murrane, Fred Kennedy, Clarence Kennedy, all of Coon Rapids, and Mrs. Ida Corbett of Bayard and Mrs. Ruth Buckley of Perry. Out of town friends attending the funeral included Mr and Mrs DE Lannon, Mary Anderson and Mrs JC McCarthy of Perry, Mr and Mrs. Dan Haley, Jefferson, Mr and Mrs. James McGuire and Mary Ann, Council Bluffs, AF Mathis and Mrs. Frank Barry Des Moines.
