She was united in marriage to L. K. Wells on Jan. 3, 1861, and to this union was bore two sons, Elihn, of Lemoyne, and H. L Wells, of Lewellen, Nebraska. About ten years ago Mr. and Mrs. Wells came to Garden county, taking up a homestead about twenty miles northeast of Oshkosh, where they have continued to reside until her death. Early in life Mrs. Wells gave her heart to God and united with the Christian Church. Her life was characterized by patient and loving sacrifice for her family and generous hospitality to her friends and neighbors. Among those who mourn the departing of this noble southern lady, are her two sons, her husband, who is quite aged, seven grandchildren and numerous friends. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church at Lewellen last Saturday by Rev. W. C. Birmingham, of Oshkosh, and Rev. Magill, of Lewellen, and the remains laid to rest in the Ash Hollow cemetery.
