At the time of death she was nearing her 79th birthday. Catherine Margaret Ley was born Nov. 3, 1860, in Ekenford, Germany, where she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In her native land she was united in marriage May 16, 1882, to Peter O. Mohr. They continued their residence in Germeny until 1889, when they emigrated to America, locating in Andover, Iowa. Leaving Andover they established their home at Madison, SD, where they resided for a long period of time. Ten years ago Mr. and Mrs. Mohr came to Boyd and made their home with their daughter, Mrs. Mary Rutsen. Mr. Mohr passed away four years ago, and since then Mrs. Mohr has resided with Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Eckhardt. To Mr. and Mrs. Mohr were born fourteen children, of whom six sons and five daughters survive, viz. Mrs. Anna Olson of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Mrs. Emma Hampton of Adrian, Minn, Mrs. Mary Rutsen and Mrs. Vena Eckhardt of Boyd, Mrs. Lillian Davis of Madison S.D., Fred of Garden City, S.D., Herman of Charles City, Iowa, Henry, Chris and Carl of Wimbleon, N.D., and William of Madison, S.D. Deceased is also survived by several grandshildren and great grandchildren, and a sister and a brother residing in Germany. Funeral services were conducted Thursday forenoon, Nov. 2, from Alred Eckhardt home, with Rev. Martin Lien, Pastor of the Trinity Lutheran congregation, officiating. "Abide With Me" was sung by the Rev. Mr. Lien, and "Sometime We Will Understand" was sung by Shirley Dahl and Phyllis Ness. Funeral procession was to Madison, S.D, where burial was in the Mohr family lot and last rites at the grave were spoken by Rev. Lien. The pallbears were the deceased six sons. Family member contributed for publication the following: "Upright and faithful in all her ways, A wonderful character to the end of her days. A loving mother, true and kind, What a beautiful memory she has left behind."
