Description	:	Mrs. Catherine Newby Dead After an illness of short duration Mrs. Catherine Newby died at the home of her son in Crete, Wednesday morning about 5 o'clock. Mrs. Newby had probably been ailing for some time but no one knew that she was not as well as usual until about three weeks ago when she complained of a severe pain in her side. Read More	Mrs. Catherine Newby Dead After an illness of short duration Mrs. Catherine Newby died at the home of her son in Crete, Wednesday morning about 5 o'clock. Mrs. Newby had probably been ailing for some time but no one knew that she was not as well as usual until about three weeks ago when she complained of a severe pain in her side. Upon examination it was found that a cancer was the cause and she was at once taken to Lincoln for treatment, but the doctors in the hospital there could do nothing for her so she was brought to her son's home in Crete. Mrs. Newby was past 68 years of age and had lived for many years in this vicinity, being one of the first women to come here in the early days. She is survived by four sons, William, of Crete, Frank, Fred and Arthur of Tobias, and one daughter, Mrs. N. M. Buchtel, of Clay Center. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church this morning at 10 o'clock, in charge of Rev. Joseph Tuma. Tobias Express -----August 4, 1911
