Description	:	Mrs. Gotfred Flax, 66, a resident of the Ransom community for nearly 50 years, passed away at the home in Ransom on Friday, January 20. She had been in failing health for the past five months after suffering a stroke. She was born in Austria on September 22, 1900, and came to the States with her parents when but a year old. She married Gotfred Flax on January 19, 1920, at Ellis, and the couple started their married life in the Ransom community which had since been her home. Read More	Mrs. Gotfred Flax, 66, a resident of the Ransom community for nearly 50 years, passed away at the home in Ransom on Friday, January 20. She had been in failing health for the past five months after suffering a stroke. She was born in Austria on September 22, 1900, and came to the States with her parents when but a year old. She married Gotfred Flax on January 19, 1920, at Ellis, and the couple started their married life in the Ransom community which had since been her home. She was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church of Ransom, and of the Altar Society of the church. Funeral services were held from the St. Aloysius Catholic Church Monday morning, January 23, with Fr. A.B. Dziemiam, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment was in the St. Aloysius Cemetery at Ransom with Fitzgeralds in charge. Survivors include: The husband of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Helen) Schuler of Ness City; Rosie Flax of Ransom; and Sister Corona Marie of Aurora; six sons, Ignatius of Ellis; Lawrence of Ransom; Fr. Myron Flax, O.F.M.Cap., New Guinea; Leonard of Wright; Herman of Arnold; and Eugene, of Dodge City; seven sisters, Mrs. Rosie Lang, Mrs. Elizabeth Flax, Mrs. Sophia Augustine, and Mrs. Frances Honas, all of Ellis; Mrs. Theresia Flax of Ransom; Ms. Anna Carver and Martha Weber , both of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, John Weber of Ellis; 29 grandchildren other relatives and family friends. She was preceded in death by an infant son in 1933. Ness Co. News, Jan. 26, 1967
