Miss Catherine Wolff, daughter of Lawrence and Catharine Wolff, was born at Sassenhime, Alsace, France, August 19, 1817. She came to America and landed at Buffalo, N.Y., the 15th of March, 1830. She was married to Michael Sucher at Buffalo, N.Y., November 8, 1835, and in July, 1842, removed to Illinois, and settled on a farm near Downers Grove. Read More	Died, March 1, at her home in Ogden, Boone county, Iowa, Mrs. Catharine Sucher (age 70). Miss Catherine Wolff, daughter of Lawrence and Catharine Wolff, was born at Sassenhime, Alsace, France, August 19, 1817. She came to America and landed at Buffalo, N.Y., the 15th of March, 1830. She was married to Michael Sucher at Buffalo, N.Y., November 8, 1835, and in July, 1842, removed to Illinois, and settled on a farm near Downers Grove. From that place she came to Ogden, Iowa, in October 1882. She has been serving God since the year 1840, and was a member of the German Evangelical church until she came to Ogden, after which she joined the M.E. church. All through her Christian life she was steadfast in her faith in Jesus Christ as a Savior and died with a full assurance of going home. She died surrounded by all of her family. Her large heart brought her into sympathy with sorrow and joy. In her home she was a sun. She filled it with light and warmth. Faithful as a wife, wise and tender as a mother, honored and trusted as a friend, she still lives through many tender memories in the home she loved. With many tears we laid her remains away to await the call of Jesus on the resurrection morn. One of her last requests to her children was to sing for her the following song, in which she joined and sang the first verse as clearly as in by gone days: There is a happy land, Far, Far away, Where saints in glory stand, Bright, bright as day---- The Ogden Reporter 1888
