Funeral services for the deceased were held at Iola last Sunday and her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Saylor of Pasadena, California, accompanied the body to Ogden from Iola, arriving here last Monday evening. Funeral services for the deceased were held at Iola last Sunday and her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Saylor of Pasadena, California, accompanied the body to Ogden from Iola, arriving here last Monday evening. The remains were taken to the Home Furnishing Funeral Chapel, where they were viewed by friends on Tuesday afternoon. No services were held at Ogden. Interment was made at Glenwood cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Saylor, who accompanied the body to Ogden, stayed at the home of Dr. and Mrs. W. C. Bradshaw. They left for Kansas City Tuesday evening and planned to leave immediately for their home in Pasadena from there. OBITUARY - Margaret Elizabeth Saylor was born at Downers Grove, Illinois, on February 5th, 1845, and died at Iola, Kansas, on February 13th, 1936 at the age of 91 years and 8 days. She was the daughter of Michael and Catherine Sucher in a family of 11 children. She was married at an early age to William Carey Freeman at Downers Grove, Illinois, to which union two sons were born, Edward E. and William C. Freeman. Her husband, William Carey Freeman, died a few years after marriage. Six years later she was united in marriage to Morgan F. Saylor at Downers Grove, Illinois, who preceded her in death in December of 1909. To this union were born three children, Earl C., Lillie May and Carl Richard Saylor. Margaret Elizabeth Saylor is survived by two brothers and one sister, Geo. F. Sucher of Portland, Oregon, Matilda Gardner of Temple City, California and Edward Sucher of Avalon, Catalina Island. Also two sons, William C. Freeman of Pasadena, Calif., and Carl R. Saylor of Pasadena, California. She was a member of the Congregational church of Ogden, Ia., and later the Presbyterian church of Iola, Kansas, also a member of the Relief Corps and the Rebecca's. She moved from Illinois to Ogden, Iowa, with her family in 1883, residing there until 1901, when the family moved to Iola, Kansas. After Mr. Saylor's death, she made her home with two sons, Edward E. Freeman at Boone, Iowa and Carl R. Saylor of Kansas City, Mo., and later of Chariton, Iowa. The last five months of her life, she has been living with Mrs. Davis Wolf, of Iola, Kansas, Mother of Mrs. Carl R. Saylor. ****** She married Morgan F Saylor in Illinois in 1873. He was a widower with 5 children [one deceased]. They were older and ready or almost ready to set out on their own. Together, Margaret and Morgan had three children.
