When she was 3 yrs. of age her parents moved to Putnam Co., Indiana where she resided until she was married in 1843 to William Wise. They emmigrated to and settled in Decatur Co., Iowa in the year 1852, where they resided until her death. She joined the Methodist church when 15 years of age and remained a faithful christian through life. She was the mother of seven children,... When she was 3 yrs. of age her parents moved to Putnam Co., Indiana where she resided until she was married in 1843 to William Wise. They emmigrated to and settled in Decatur Co., Iowa in the year 1852, where they resided until her death. She was the mother of seven children, three of whom with her husband survive to mourn their deep loss - two daughters and one son. She was a loving wife and mother and a kind neighbor and will be missed by all who knew her. "Mother Wise was one of those quiet unassuming persons. . .When we consider her age was about 65 years, her married life about 40 years, and her christian life about 50 years, and that during these years she and her family endured so much prolonged affliction and then behold the calm satisfaction portrayed on her countenance at the final result and notice the deep impressions made upon the hearts of her many friends, and especially upon those who knew her best, who could doubt the beauty and worth of a holy life devoted to her God and family?"
