Description	:	Mrs. Ceba Ellis Funeral Services Held October 24 Mrs. Ceba Ellis, 88, resident of this area for 63 years, died Wednesday, October 22, at Prairie Center Rest Home, where she had been a resident since June. Mrs. Ellis had been in failing health for several months. Funeral services were conducted Friday morning, October 24, at the United Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Don Heeringa officiating. Interment was made in the St. Lawrence Cemetery. Pallbearers were Homer Welch, F. K. Hackett, Lloyd Gerlach, Harlan Meier, John Bushfield and James Halbig. Mrs. Ellis had been in failing health for several months. Funeral services were conducted Friday morning, October 24, at the United Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Don Heeringa officiating. Interment was made in the St. Lawrence Cemetery. Pallbearers were Homer Welch, F. K. Hackett, Lloyd Gerlach, Harlan Meier, John Bushfield and James Halbig. Mrs. Ellis was born June 23, 1881, at Pilger, Nebr. In 1901 she was married to Melvin E. Ellis, and they farmed near Pilger for several years until coming to Hand County in 1906. They established their home on a farm in Hiland township, which they improved and lived on until retirement in 1957, when they moved to Miller. Mr. Ellis died in 1962, and she continued to make her home by herself until her health failed. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, and took an active interest in the Women's Society and other church affairs so long as her health permitted. She was the mother of six children, five of whom survive. One son, Richard, for a number of years owner of the Miller Rexall drug, preceded her in death. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Gordon Magness (Novella), St. Lawrence, Mrs. Margaret Humphrey and Mrs. Helen Rachett, both of Los Alamos, New Mexico, and two sons, Norman, of Republic, Missouri, and Max, Arcadia, Calif.
