Description	:	Cecelia Louise (Zent) Carroll, 101, who had worked in department stores and as a school cook, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2005, at St. Johns Lutheran Home in Billings. She was born June 11, 1903, in Towner, N.D., the second of seven children of Mathias and Mary (Bott) Zent. She moved to Hysham in 1913 and graduated in the class of 1922 from Hysham High School. Read More	Cecelia Louise (Zent) Carroll, 101, who had worked in department stores and as a school cook, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2005, at St. Johns Lutheran Home in Billings. She was born June 11, 1903, in Towner, N.D., the second of seven children of Mathias and Mary (Bott) Zent. She moved to Hysham in 1913 and graduated in the class of 1922 from Hysham High School. She was a basketball player and placed third in a state declaratory competition. On May 24, 1922, she married Charles W. Carroll at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Hysham. They moved to the state of Washington where Mr. Carroll worked for newspapers as a linotype operator. In 1930, they returned to Billings where he worked for The Billings Gazette for more than 60 years. Mrs. Carroll was a homemaker until their youngest child began high school. She then worked in sales in the women?s lingerie department at Hart Albin Co. and in the children?s department at Coles Department Store. In 1948 the Carrolls moved back to Hysham for several years, and she worked as a cook for the Hysham School District. She had played bridge with various clubs for more than 80 years. She also bowled into her 70s and won many trophies. Survivors include three children, Matt Carroll of Union Gap, Wash., Jack Carroll of Billings and Marieanne Hanser of Billings; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation was on Wednesday and will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. April 14 with Vigil beginning at 7 p.m. at Dahl Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at St. Patrick?s Co-Cathedral at noon Friday with interment in Hysham Memorial Vale Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. John?s Lutheran Foundation, 3940 Rimrock Road, Billings, MT 59102; or the Billings Food Bank, 2112 Fourth Ave. N., Billings, MT 59101.
