She was born Feb. 14, 1910, in Haddam in Washington county, to Michael and Mary Bohm Shea. She taught in school in Washington county 10 years and lived in Ada in Ottawa county since 1937. She was a clerk in the Ada Post Office 22 years before she became a postmaster in 1976. She retired in 1991. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Ada where she was a former 4-H Club leader and member of an Extension Homemakers Unit. She had served on the Ada Rural Water district board. She was married to Deane E. White June 5, 1937, in Haddam. He died in 1976. A son, John Michael White, died at an early age. Survivors include daughters, Sharon Larson, Tecumseh, and Deanna Hormel, Edwards, MO; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10am Thursday at Antioch Baptist Church in Ada. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery in Ada. Mrs. White will lie in state from 1 pm today until 9 pm Wednesday at Shields Funeral Home in Minneapolis and after 9 am thursday at the church. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Antioch Baptist Church in Ada.
