Tong, 80, formerly of Carey, died Friday, December 25, 2009 at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky, where he had resided the past seven years. He was born Sunday, April 7, 1929 in Carey, OH., son of the late Lincoln and Ruth (Starr) Tong. He married M. Louise Gregory on April 8, 1955 and she preceded him in death on May 14, 1999. He was born Sunday, April 7, 1929 in Carey, OH., son of the late Lincoln and Ruth (Starr) Tong. He married M. Louise Gregory on April 8, 1955 and she preceded him in death on May 14, 1999. Surviving are his daughter, Donna Lee (Dan) Kessler of Carey, three grandchildren; Jason Mitten, Josh Kessler, and Jenny Conley, three great grandchildren; Austin, Haylea, and Charlee, and a brother; Glenn (Mabel) Tong of Carey. He was preceded in death by a brother; Lester Tong and three sisters; Katherine Frey, Dorcas Donelson, and Opal Stark. Cecil was a meat cutter having worked for the former Donelson Meat Packing in Carey and retired from New Riegel Provisions in New Riegel. He was an avid squirrel hunter. Private graveside services will be held at a later date in Zion Bloom Cemetery near Vanlue, officiated by Pastor Matt Doerle. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Activity Fund in care of STOMBAUGH-BATTON FUNERAL HOME, 225 W. Findlay St., Carey, OH. 43316.
