Description	:	OBIT: Cecil H. Johnson, 84, died at Kittitas Valley Community Hospital Saturday. He was born March 19, 1892 at Healdsburg, Calif. He was the son of pioneer parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Johnson. His father came to the United States from England in the Centennial year of 1876. The family moved to Ellensburg from Tacoma in 1910 and Johnson farmed in the Fairview District until his retirement in 1952. He then moved to Ellensburg. Johnson, 84, died at Kittitas Valley Community Hospital Saturday. He was born March 19, 1892 at Healdsburg, Calif. He was the son of pioneer parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Johnson. His father came to the United States from England in the Centennial year of 1876. The family moved to Ellensburg from Tacoma in 1910 and Johnson farmed in the Fairview District until his retirement in 1952. He then moved to Ellensburg. He was married to Beulah Townsend on December 16, 1938 in Ellensburg. She preceded him in death in 1971. He made his home at 201 N. Sampson. He was a member of the New Testament Christian Church, Silver Circle, Friendly Place. He served as commissioner for the PUD for 28 years, starting in 1936. He was Past Noble Grand of the Kittitas IOOF Lodge, Past Master of the Nanum Grange and a Past Master of the Pamona Grange. He helped break ground for the then new rodeo and fairgrounds. He is survived by his one son, Willard H., of Palmer, Alaska; two daughters, Mrs. Carol Patrick of Temple City, Calif.; and Mrs. Verna Nelson of Ellensburg; eight grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in Evenson Chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Berl Thomas will officiate and the IOOF Lodge will conduct graveside services at the IOOF Cemetery.
