Mr. Goodman passed away January 17, 1970, at a Battle Creek nursing home after a long illness. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux city, under direction of Walter Funeral Home. Cecil Oscar Goodman, son of Conrad and Mary Goodman, was born July 3, 1895, at Anthon. Except for five years that he and his family resided near Holstein, the remainder of his life was spent in the Anthon community. On February 22, 1917, he married Ella Petersen at Anthon. They were parents of one daughter and five sons. Mr. Goodman farmed for forty-seven years and retired nine years ago, moving into the town of Anthon. He was well known in this areas as the manager of the Kent Feed Store in Anthon and was later associated with Dr. Leonard Cavanaugh in this business. He was a long time member of the Methodist Church in Anthon. He was a past trustee of Rock Township for several years. Survivors include the widow, one daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Marjorie) Jansen of Anthon, five sons, Clarence of Sioux City, Benjamin in Phoenix, Arizona, Paul of Norfolk, Nebraska, Robert of Battle Creek and Conrad of Paske, Laos, sixteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one brother, Wayne of Fort Dodge, four sisters, Mrs. Ellen Bockwoldt of Holstein, Mrs. Florence Ferns of Anthon, Mrs. Bessie Halberg of Des Moines and Miss Marie Goodman of Rock Island, Illinois.
