Nina Marie Goodman was born September 3, 1904, on a farm near Anthon and moved with her family to Correctionville where she graduated from high school in 1923. She attended Iowa State Teachers College for two years before teaching at Hawarden and Estherville, Iowa. She later received her BA and Masters degrees from Iowa University. She was a junior high principal and teacher at Denison, Iowa, before going to Rock Island, Illinois, in 1942 to teach until her retirement in 1970. She then became tour director traveling throughout the U.S. and Europe. She made four tours to Alaska. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Rock Island, Illinois, the Rock Island Retired Teachers Association and the NEA and a life member of the Iowa University Alumnus Association. She was a resident of Villa Care Center in Fort Dodge since January 1990. Survivors include a sister, Bessie Halberg of Des Moines, a brother, Wayne Goodman of Fort Dodge, 14 nieces and nephews. Her parents, Mary and Conrad Goodman, two brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
