Description	:	GERMANTON, NC ~ Mr. Cecil William Montgomery, 80, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2009 from Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Stokes County to Herman Thomas and Lelia Tuttle Montgomery. He was a former member of Germanton Baptist Church and currently was a member of First Baptist Church of Walnut Cove. He retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 38.9 years service, then enjoyed traveling through 49 states with his wife, family, and friends. Read More	GERMANTON, NC ~ Mr. Cecil William Montgomery, 80, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2009 from Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Stokes County to Herman Thomas and Lelia Tuttle Montgomery. He was a former member of Germanton Baptist Church and currently was a member of First Baptist Church of Walnut Cove. He retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 38.9 years service, then enjoyed traveling through 49 states with his wife, family, and friends. He was a gardener, a great cook, and loved antiques. His wife, Pearl Smith Montgomery, preceded him in death by 140 days; and his parents are also deceased. Surviving are two sons, Bill (Annette) Montgomery and Dallas (Debbie) Montgomery; four grandchildren, Matthew Montgomery, Megan (Josh) Shelton, Alex Montgomery, and Will Montgomery; three siblings, Nancy (Doug) Duggins, Harold Thomas (Lib) Montgomery, and Chester Arzell (Helen) Montgomery; and special friends, Preston and Pat Watts and Buddy Wall. An 11 a.m. Graveside Service will be held Monday, March 23, 2009 at Germanton Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Lattimore officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 till 8 p.m. tonight, March 22, at Burroughs Funeral Home and other times at the home of Dallas and Debbie Montgomery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Stokes County, 3169 NC Highway 8 South, Suite 204, Walnut Cove, NC 27052 or to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, P O Box 552, Walnut Cove, NC 27052. The family would like to express their appreciation to the Hospice staff, especially Sherri Dalton and Jan Gordon, for the loving care Mr. Montgomery received during his illness.
