A service will be held at Hingham Lutheran Church, in Hingham, Mont., later this week with burial in the Highland Memorial Cemetery in Havre, Mont. Mrs. Brevik was born Jan. 17, 1908, in Knox, N.D. She graduated from Hingham High School in Montana in 1927. After attending college in Havre and Billings, Montana, she taught in one room rural schools on the "Hi-line" and in Havre elementary schools during the 1930s. In 1945, she and her husband bought a farm south of Hingham and lived there until 1970, when they retired. Mrs. Brevik was an active member of the Hingham Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday school and vacation Bible school for many years. She also served as President of the American Lutheran Church Women from 1954 to 1956. She made many banners for the church, which are still being displayed. At the church's Diamond Jubilee in 1985, she was recognized as the oldest living member of the first parish confirmation class of 1922. Her interests included music, reading, handicrafts, gardening, writing and painting. In 1964, Northern Montana College commissioned her to do an oil painting of a harvest scene called "Farmer's Pay Day" which is still hanging in Cowan Hall in Havre. For the 75th anniversary of Hingham in 1985, Mrs. Brevik did extensive research and wrote "The Town on the Square," the history of Hingham from 1910 to 1985. Her husband, Clinton, died in 1976. In 1987, she moved to Anchorage to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Mrs. Brevik is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Jim Johnson, both of Anchorage; her sister, Edith Dolezal, of Havre, Mont.; her brothers, Roy Rambo, of Hingham, and Art Rambo, of Gildford, Mont.; her granddaughters, Darcy and Valerie, of Anchorage; and many nieces and nephews.
