Description	:	Cecilia A. Leuenberger, age 88 of Lawler died Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2011, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Lawler with Rev. Nick March celebrating the Mass. The pall will be placed by Cecilia's children. Interment will be in the Our Lady of Mt. Friends may greet the family 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Lawler with a 6:00 p.m. rosary. Visitation will continue an hour prior to the service on Saturday. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home, Lawler. Cecilia Ann was born in rural Winneshiek County on November 23, 1922, the daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Herold) Chipera. She attended school in Ft. Atkinson and graduated from Ft. Atkinson High School. On February 18, 1946, she was united in marriage to Eugene Leuenberger at St. John's Catholic Church in Ft. Atkinson. To this union, four children were born. The couple farmed together North of Lawler until Eugene's death in 1990. She was involved in numerous community activities and active in the church. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia (Wayne) Huber of Decorah, Rebecca (Ron) Berns of Monona; two sons, Norbert (Boni) Leuenberger of Westminster, CO, George Leuenberger of Lawler; five grandchildren, Sarah Berns of Silver Spring, MD, John Berns of Ames, Mark Berns of Ames, Lindsey (Steven) Klautsch of Brigton, CO, Justin Leuenberger of Hermosa Beach, CA; twin great granddaughters, Avery Klautsch and Kendall Klautsch; a sister, Viola Pitzenberger of Jackson Junction; two brothers, Leonard (Nerissa) Chipera of Waucoma, Paul (Lillian) Chipera of Ft. Atkinson; a brother-in-law, Lou (Glenna) Leuenberger of Ft. Dodge; a sister-in-law, Ann Leuenberger of Palmer, AK; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on January 4, 1990; brothers and sisters-in-law Rudy Pitzenberger, Irene (Walter) Shores, Darlene (Dan) Mracek, Leo Leuenberger, and Ben (Beverly) Leuenberger.
