Celena Schladetzky of Wyoming died April 15 at the Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue. Celena Anna Schladetzky was born Sept 6, 1904 in Wayne Township, the daughter of John G. and Mathilde Zimmerman Mardorf. She received her education in the Wayne Township schools and attended Cedar Rapids Business College. On November 15, 1933, she married Louis B. Schladetzky at St. John Lutheran Church, Monticello. The couple farmed in the Olin-Wyoming area for many years and moved into Wyoming in March 1968. Louis died in April 1970, and Celena continued living in Wyoming until March 1990 when she moved to the Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue, because of failing health. She is survived by one son, Dr. Roger Schladetzky of Bellevue; three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Celena was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Women, both of Wyoming; a member of the Hale Golden Rule and the Olin Garden clubs, the Jones County Cancer Society, and served as chairman of the Jones County 4-H committee. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two infant daughters, a sister, and a brother. NOTE: Obit shows birth as Wayne Twp, but delayed birth certificate show birth as Jackson Twp. Also her brother shows born in Jackson Twp.
