WILLIAMS Celia Agnes McCulloch was born at Savoy, Massachusetts December 13, 1856, and departed this life at her home in Neal, Kansas, January 19, 1941, at the age of 84 years, one month, and 7 days. At the age of 12 years she moved with her parents to Iona, Illinois, where she completed her education and began her career as a public school teacher. She was married to Marshall H. WILLIAMS Celia Agnes McCulloch was born at Savoy, Massachusetts December 13, 1856, and departed this life at her home in Neal, Kansas, January 19, 1941, at the age of 84 years, one month, and 7 days. At the age of 12 years she moved with her parents to Iona, Illinois, where she completed her education and began her career as a public school teacher. She was married to Marshall H. Glass, April 25, 1875. To this union three children were born. They lived for some time on a farm in Illinois, then went to Nebraska and proved their rights on a homestead where she fulfilled the duties of a pioneer mother besides teaching the community school. She and her family then returned to Illinois where her husband died October 24, 1904. She came to Canton, Kansas, in 1905 where she and her small son, Neil lived for two years. She was married to Jesse W. Williams at ElDorado, Kansas, on February 27, 1907. They lived for some time in Neal where Mr. Williams was a blacksmith. Later they moved to their farm where Mr. Williams departed this life January 16, 1930. Being too old to oversee her farm she sold it and moved to her little home in Neal where she carried on bravely alone until the last months of her life. Her father and mother were ministers of the Seventh Day Advent church. She became a member of that church at an early age and was a true Christian until her Master said "Come." She was an earnest church worker in every community in which she lived and her beautiful soprano voice lifted in song at church, funeral and community gatherings, will be remembered. Her life was a busy one, having mothered her three children, four step-children and one grandchild, teaching fifteen terms of school, and as long as she was able always taking an active part in her church, school and community. She was old in years, but not in mind, for she kept abreast of the times with her reading and by listening to her radio. She will be sadly missed by her three children, Mrs. Ella Pidcock, of Hennessey, Oklahoma, Mrs. Mildred Shields of Neal, Kansas, and Neil A. Glass of Quincy, Kansas; three grandchildren, Arnold Glass, Jacksonville, Florida, Kenneth and Larry Lee Glass, Quincy, Kansas; and four stepchildren, John S., Monroe E. and Walter Williams of California, Mrs. Lola Kotenbach of Baxter Springs, Kansas; and other relatives and a host of friends. Interment was made in the Neal cemetery, January 23, 1941, Rev. Bert Sutton officiating. Pallbearers were John Ericson, C. C. Ruyon, Wm. Rockley, T. R. Gilbert, R. Q Good rum, and H. T. Grove. Out-of-town relatives who attended the funeral were Mrs. Kaltenbach, her son and wife of Baxter Springs, Mrs. Lois Fulzenhoger of Wichita, and Arnold Glass of Jacksonville, Florida.
