Between 1850 and 1860 her parents moved to Fredericksburg, Chickasaw, Iowa. She married Buel Sherman, the son of Marshall Sherman 1799 and Sara Wanzer between 1850 and 1855. The couple first lived in Dundee, Kane, Illinois, and moved to Fredericksburg, Chickasaw, Iowa by 1860, where they lived the rest of their lives.
