(Source: Ross County, OH Marriage Records) ====================== The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE), Friday, February 15, 1946; pg. 1 Charity Lucetta Wheeland Mrs. Charity Lucetta McGee Wheeland was born in Chillicothe, Ohio, January 31, 1867. She was united in marriage to John N Wheeland at Chillicothe, Ohio, on February 14, 1889. They moved to a farm two miles west of Ong, Nebraska, living there two years. Following this they moved to a farm southeast of Edgar, living there until November 11, 1942; then she moved to Edgar remaining here until her death on February 6, 1946. She was 79 years and five days of age. Mrs. Wheeland was the mother of six children, Roy, Bessie, Earl, Stella, Medie Mae and Harold. She was preceded in death by her husband, John N. Wheeland, November 30, 1928, and two children, Mae, who passed away December 1905, and Harold, passing away October 14, 1944.. Mrs. Wheeland is survived by four children, Roy and Bessie of Edgar, Earl of Patterson, California and Stella Galt of Hughson, California. She also leaves to mourn her departure, 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren, two brothers, John and Will McGee of Chillicothe, Ohio, other relatives and a host of friends. She was a kind and loving mother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services were held at the family home in south Edgar, Sunday February 10, 1946, at 2:00 p.m. with James M. Boyd in charge. Mrs. James M Boyd, Anna Stewart, J. Rob't. Olseene and ** McGhie sang "When the Roll is Called Up Yonder" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Pallbearers were: Jack Br, Vernard Graham, Fred Gass, *** Branstitre, Merton Kenley and Howard Springer. Interment was made in the Edgar cemetery (sic). Contributor: Jan Plambeck (46975511)
