Read More	The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE), Friday, October 20, 1944; pg. 1 Harold Loren Wheeland Harold Loren Wheeland, son of John and Charity Wheeland, was born near Edgar Nebraska, June 13, 1904, and passed away at the home of his mother in Edgar, October 24, 1944, at the age of 40 years, 4 months and 1 day. He lived near Edgar on the farm his entire life, moving to Edgar in November, 1943. He was married to Hazel Ray, May 9, 1940. To this union four children were born, Jackie, Linda, Lonnie and Marcia. His father preceded him in death November 30, 1928, and one sister, Medie May, December 10, 1905. Those who survive to mourn his passing are: his wife, Hazel, and children, his mother, Mrs. Charity Wheeland, two sisters, Bessie Wheeland of Edgar and Mrs. Stella Galt of Hughson California, two brothers, Roy of Edgar and Earle of Patterson, California. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, October 17, 1944, at 2:30 p.m., at the Charity Wheeland home. James C. Cayton, was in charge. J. M. McGhie, J. Rob't. Olseene and James C. Cayton sang "The Old Rigged Cross" and "When the Roll is Called Up Yonder." Pallbearers were: Loren Johnson, Fred Gass, Vernard Graham, Ervin Branstitre, Howard Springer and Martin Kenley.
