Mrs. Zora Allen and Mrs. Ruby Wulbern accompanied at the piano by Miss Mabel Hovendick, sang. Burial was in Valley View cemetery at Persia, Iowa. Charity Maie Butler was born December 22, 1880, at Winterset, Iowa, and came to Blair with her parents while the railroad bridge was being built over the Missouri river here. Later the Butlers lived at Hastings, Nebraska, before going to Neola, Iowa. She and Charles F. Evans were married at Neola 39 years ago. In about 1917 they came to Fort Calhoun where Mr. Evans was a stock feeder for a number of years. They moved to their present farm south of Blair two years ago. Surviving Mrs. Evans are her husband, four sons, Floyd, Wilber, James and George Evans, all on the farm; four daughters, Mrs. Gut McDonald of Blair, Mrs. Wayne Sperry of Glenwood, Iowa, Mrs. William Ellis of Omaha and Mrs. Clyde Pedersen of Florence. There are eight grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, LeRoy M. Hoyt of Omaha, and a cousin, William Newland of Neola. Enterprise, 2 May 1940, p-8, Blair, Nebraska MRS C. F. EVANS, 59, DIES IN HOSPITAL Following more than a week's illness with pneumonia, Mrs. Charles F. Evans passed away at the Blair hospital on Monday, April 29. Funeral services were conducted at one o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the Bendorf Funeral Home, Rev. T. A. Lindenmeyer of the Church of Christ officiating, and burial was made at Siam, Iowa. Born in Audubon, Iowa, on December 22, 1880, Mrs. Evans was married in 1901. Surviving are the husband and eight children: Mrs. Guy McDonald, James, Wilbur, George, and Lloyd Evans, all of Blair; Mrs. Wayne Sperry of Glenwood, Iowa; Mrs. William Ellis and Mrs. Clyde Pedersen of Omaha.
