Description	:	Charity Maxson Babcock was the daughter of Thomas and Martha Davis Babcock. She was born in Harrison Co, Virginia. She married Simeon Babcock on October 6, 1803, in Harrison Co, Virginia. They had three children: Jesse M b 1804 in Doddridge Co, VA; Gean Babcock b 1897 in Clark Co, Ohio; and Maxson Babcock b May 5, 1817 in Clark Co, Ohio. "The cemetery remained until 1923, when a school was built on the half-acre lot and the graves were carefully added to Asbury Cemetery... Worn, delicately scrolled headstones for Charity Babcock (1835), first wife of Rev Simeon Babcock, Ester Ayers (1835), Samuel Lippincott (1853) and Jesse Maxson (1857) authenticate the site of the final resting place for members of the original Pike Church."
