She then took employment as a... Read More	MILLER, CHARLENE CHERRAL—Charlene Cherral Miller was born to Lawrence J. and Viola M. (Pope) Rath on June 24, 1932, at the family farm in Clay County. She passed away June 12, 2004, at Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva at the age of 71 years, 11 months and 18 days. She was one of two children in the family. At the age of eight, she and her family moved to Eugene, Ore., where she attended Woodrow Wilson Jr. High School and graduated from Eugene High School with the Class of 1950. She then took employment as a telephone operator for the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company. Charlene was united in marriage to Irvin L. Miller on Oct. 7, 1951, at Sutton and to them four children were born. The couple resided at Geneva where she babysat and worked for various businesses. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She loved to quilt and made many quilts for her family and friends. She taught quilting classes and enjoyed knitting, crochet, embroidery and playing bridge. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Irvin Miller, who died April 6, 1994. She is survived by son, David Miller; three daughters, Sherie Buck, Debra Miller, Diane and husband Bill Ruhlman; a brother, Marlowe “Bud” Rath; five grandchildren, Marine Lance Cpl. Ryan Buck and wife Rachael, Nathan Buck, Maggie Buck and Adam Ehly; Alison Ehly and a great-granddaughter, Chantel Yaunk. Funeral services were conducted from United Methodist Church in Geneva, on Tuesday, June 15, with Rev. Pat Kelley officiating. Susan Kleinschmidt accompanied the congregation who sang “Amazing Grace.” Special music was played “Just a Closer Walk with Thee.” Casket bearers were Adam Ehly, Rick Rath, Thomas Koehn, Nathan Buck, Mike Rath and Douglas Koozer. Honorary bearers were LCPL Ryan Buck, Maggie Buck and Alison Ehly. Interment was in the Geneva Public Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal June 23rd, 2004 page 12.
