Married (2) Mary Vigl on February 16, 1898 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Brainard, Nebr. ````````````` Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), November 30, 1944, p. 1, col. 6 HE DIED IN HOSPITAL SPENT ENTIRE LIFE AT ABIE Funeral Services Held In Abie Church Friday Abie, Nov. 27 - Charles Prochaska, 70, who had spent his entire life in the Abie vicinity, passed away at 7:30 a.m. November 21 in the hospital in Prague. In failing health the past year he had been a patient in the hospital since August. The body lay in state at the Home For Funerals in David City until Friday, during which time Rev. William Murphy conducted the Rosary devotion. The funeral procession started from David City Friday morning to Abie, where at 10 a.m. funeral services were held in the Catholic church. Rev. Boniface Tomek, assisted by three acolytes, officiated at requiem holy mass, the choir singing the requiem. Following a sermon by Rev. Tomek the funeral procession proceeded for Sts. Peter and Paul cemetery for the final benediction and interment. Six long-time neighbors of Mr. Prochaska were pallbearers, they being Joe C. Humlicek, Jos. Jaros, Louis Kracman, Joe Macholan, James Shorney and John Tomek. The burial services were concluded with an appropriate hymn. The largely attended services were a testimonial of the high esteem held for Mr. Prochaska. Charles Prochaska was the youngest of four children born to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Prochaska, who were living near Abie at that time. May 27, 1874 was the date of his birth. He was married to Miss Mary Virgil of David City. Four children were born to this unioin, Charles, who died at the age of ten; Rose, now Sister Honoriana of the St. Francis order at Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Emil A. Rech of David City; and Edward J. Prochaska of Omaha. Also surviving are a brother, Frank, Jr., of Abie and ten grandchildren. Mrs. Prochaska died in 1905, and a brother and an infant sister preceded him in death. Mr. Prochaska had been a member of Sts.
