All of the census records that I have found show he was born in Iowa, and his Social Security Application, which is in the name of Abraham Charles Pierson, gives his place of birth as Pleasant Plain, Iowa. The son of David and Ruth Pierson, he was born May 23, 1874, in Indiana [sic] and had lived in Ottumwa for the past 30 years. Mr. Pierson is survived by his wife, Goldie; five sons, LeRoy, Floyd and Gerald, all of Ottumwa, Leonard of Mt. Pleasant and Melvin of New Orleans, La.; one daughter, Mrs. Olive Davidson of Ottumwa; one brother, S.N. Pierson of Plainsville, Kansas; one sister, Mrs. Mary Davidson [sic] of Libertyville; and 13 grandchildren.
