Pierson, 61, a resident of Westgate Towers died Friday at 11 p.m. at Veterans Administration Hospital in Des Moines. He was born Oct. 12, 1913, in Jefferson County, the son of Charles and Clara Mason Pierson. An Ottumwa resident most of his life, he was a member of the Ransom Street Church of Christ and the local American Legion Post. Surviving are three sons, Larry and Donald F., both of Ottumwa, and Gary of Newton; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Olive Davidson of Kirkville. He was preceded in death by four brothers. The service will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel with Bill Payne, minister of the Ransom Street Church of Christ, officiating. Burial with an American Legion military service will be in Shaul Cemetery.
