Campbell, 86, Mt. Zion, died at the Crawford nursing home in Fairfield, at 5 a.m. Nov. 23. He had been at the nursing home for the past two months. He was born August 29, 1870, on a farm near Mt. Zion, where he spent his life. He was the son of Bethel and Mary Johnston Campbell. He was a life member of the Iowa Horticultural society, having joined in 1900. He also was a member of the Mt. Zion Presbyterian church. He was married January 10, 1012, to Florence Bauman of Birmingham, who survives. He also leaves two sons, Robert at home and Daniel B. Campbell of Bettendorf, and three daughters, Mrs. Perry J. Emmert of Naha, Okinawa, Miss Margaret Campbell of Williamson, West Va., and Mrs. Richard E. Arnold of Louisville, Ky. There are six grandchildren. Two brothers, a sister and a grandson preceded him in death. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Zion Presbyterian church. The Rev. H.C. Irvine of Birmingham will officiate. Burial will be in the Forbes cemetery. The body is at the Burnett-Catcott funeral home. Source: Van Buren Co.
