Born on Oct. 14, 1918, in St. Juste, PQ, Canada, he was the son of Rosaire and Alma (Bureau) Breton. Charles was an involved member of the greater Waterville community. Read More	WATERVILLE - Charles Alfred Breton, "Charlie" to those who knew and loved him, died peacefully, on May 13, 2013, at Lakewood Continuing Care Center, surrounded by his loving family. Born on Oct. 14, 1918, in St. Juste, PQ, Canada, he was the son of Rosaire and Alma (Bureau) Breton. Charles was an involved member of the greater Waterville community. As a faithful member of the Corpus Christi Parish, Charlie was an active participant on the parish council for many years, and attended St. Francis de Sales Church with his wife, Dorothy, and their family every Sunday. A self-made business man, Charlie's hard work and charisma lead him from his days as a meat cutter for the A&P and Cottle's Market, to opening his own grocery stores, the first in 1970, (Oakland Superette), and the second in 1980, (Madison Superette). Charlie enjoyed a rich and full life, which he shared with his beloved wife, Dorothy, until her passing in 2001; as well as his loving family, friends, and countless acquaintances. Charlie was a good man, a giving man, a man devoted to his faith, and a man who loved his family wholeheartedly. He will be missed by all of us, who love him. Charles was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Dorothy (LeClair) Breton; three brothers, Francis, Henry and Jean Paul; and three sisters, Carmelle, Alice and Gabrielle. Surviving are his five children, Charles F. Breton and wife Shirley, of Mechanic Falls, Linda Bragg and husband Tom, of Sidney, Arlene Brown and husband Steve, of Fairfield, Carol McKinnon and husband Gary, of Oakland, and Alan Breton and wife Ammie, of Oakland; a sister, Marie Beth Hutchison, of Waterville; a sister-in-law, Jeannette LaPointe and husband Larry, of Winslow; seven grandchildren, Lisa, Julie, Nicholas, Kelly, Steffanie, Katrina, and Brian; four great-grandchildren, Marcel, Matthew, Rachael and Ashlyn; as well as several nieces and nephews. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery, Grove Street, Waterville. (Morning Sentinel 5/15/2013)
